About Me!

Hi, I'm Savan and I'm a senior studying advertising, entrepreneurship, and design strategies at The University of Texas at Austin🤘!

Initially, my desire to explore creativity in an academic and professional setting drew me to advertising as it allowed me to be hands-on and creative. But through my design strategies coursework, I discovered the value of human-centered design. I realized that the field of design provided me with the opportunity to be imaginative and innovative while challenging me every step of the way.

I completed the design strategies certificate last semester and am so grateful that it exposed me to so many aspects of the design field. One of the highlights was taking studio courses at argodesign, a design firm here in Austin. In these courses, I tackled various projects related to user journey maps, UX research, addressing user pain points, and design thinking.

I have found my passion in the field of design and I'm eager to gain more experiences in the field, specifically within UX/design research. I believe that true user centric design requires strategic and creative thinkers like myself, and I'm excited to contribute my skills to help make an impact.

Outside of my academic and professional interests, I’m a huge foodie and also love trying new coffee shops (but I usually end up getting a matcha because I’m not a big coffee person). If you have any restaurant or coffee shop recommendations, specifically in Austin or Houston, I would love to add them to my list of places to try!

In addition to being a foodie, I really enjoy travelling and have been fortunate enough to travel to some really cool places. The last trip I took was to Japan and Thailand with my family and it was so amazing. While I am not the best photographer, it’s definitely a newer hobby that I am trying to explore, especially when traveling!

On the topic of hobbies, I love trivia and brain games like the NYT Daily Mini and Connections. I also love learning about other languages and cultures, and my go to fun fact is that I actually have a 1,400+ day streak on Duolingo.

If you are interested in learning more about some of the work I have done, want to discuss my academic and professional experiences, or you just want to talk, please feel free to reach out to me!
